چکیده

In this paper we introduce a new application of time-resolved X-ray tomography (XRT) to imaging the washcoating process in catalytic monolith filters with honeycomb structure (DPF, GPF). The method is applied several alumina washcoats different particle size distributions deposited on cordierite substrate. results bring insights into drying dynamics porous filter wall as well on-wall catalyst layer, including layer shrinking and cracking. XRT are supplemented by cross-section scanning electron microscopy images mercury intrusion porosimetry final structures. addition statistical analysis washcoat distribution, impact pressure loss determined experiments.

Dissociative multiphoton ionization of NO2 studied by time-resolved imaging.

We have studied dissociative multiphoton ionization of NO2 by time-resolved velocity map imaging in a two-color pump-probe experiment using the 400 and 266 nm harmonics of a regeneratively amplified titanium-sapphire laser. We observe that most of the ion signal appears as NO+ with approximately 0.28 eV peak kinetic energy. Approximately 600 fs period oscillations indicative of wave packet moti...

Protein folding mechanisms studied by time-resolved electrospray mass spectrometry.

Mass spectrometry (MS) owes its remarkable rise as a bioanalytical tool to the development of two “soft” ionization techniques: matrix-assisted laser desorption/ ionization (MALDI) (1,2) and electrospray ionization (ESI) (3). The salient feature of soft ionization is that a wide range of analytes, from small metabolites to very large biomolecular systems, can be transferred intact into the gas ...

Application of temporal filters to time resolved data in optical tomography.

This paper addresses the problem of selecting measurement data types suitable for image reconstruction in optical tomography. The principal problem is the necessity to simultaneously reconstruct both the absorption and scatter distribution within an object. This can lead to ambiguities between these two parameters, and result in cross-talk and image artefact. A single-perturbation test problem ...

Time-resolved Fourier optical diffuse tomography.

Time-resolved Fourier optical diffuse tomography is a novel approach for imaging of objects in a highly scattering turbid medium with use of an incident (near) plane wave. The theory of the propagation of spatial Fourier components of the scattered wave field is presented, along with a fast algorithm for three-dimensional reconstruction in a parallel planar geometry. Examples of successful reco...

Nonresonant ionization of oxygen molecules by femtosecond pulses: plasma dynamics studied by time-resolved terahertz spectroscopy.

We show that optical pump-terahertz probe spectroscopy is a direct experimental tool for exploring laser-induced ionization and plasma formation in gases. Plasma was produced in gaseous oxygen by focused amplified femtosecond pulses. The ionization mechanisms at 400- and 800-nm excitation wavelengths differ significantly being primarily of a multiphoton character in the former case and a strong...
